[Pellet-users] ANN: Owlgres 0.1 (Alpha Release)

Pellet users,

We've just posted the initial alpha release of Owlgres, a scalable
reasoner based on DL-Lite and Postgres.  We are anxious to get feedback
from the community, so encourage you to download at [1], check the
documentation at [2], discuss on the owlgres list [3], and file or
review tickets in the public issue tracker [4].

The current release implements much of, but not all of DL-Lite as
described in the current OWL 2 profile [5].  The bits of the current
profile not yet covered are documented at [6].  Additionally, the
release extends the profile by offering limited support for qualified
existentials and datatype properties.

In case you're unsure if your data fits in DL-Lite, the release includes
a tool that will analyze a TBox and provide feedback.  If it doesn't fit
the tool will describe what bits of the ontology are unsupported.

It's an alpha release, and we recognize there's work to be done, but
we're proud to have gotten it this far.  Finally, I offer a well
deserved congratulations to my colleague Markus Stocker for completing
the bulk of the implementation.
