Hi Kendall,

I apologise for the way I expressed this. Be sure that I really appreciate
the work so far and I thank you for making this OSS and free.

Don't get me wrong even if this sounds like provocation. To me, the actors
of the list are not only the authors but also the users. The users should
not only consume your efforts but also share their experiences. I guess this
is important for the community and for the authors.

Since I'm working for a telecom company it can be considered as a early
adopter of OWL in its domain. Early adoption is always a risk and we have to
evaluate how far we can go with an emerging standard.
Pellet has a good reputation and I choosed this reasoner among the following
:  {Fact++, Racer, Kaon2}
What's attracting to Pellet, on top of its reasoning capabilities (including
SWRL), is its integration with the Java platform using OWL API.
Now we are technically blocked in our work with OWL because of performance
and memory issues. We are then following two paths:
- 1/ adapting the model so it's supported by current version of Pellet
- 2/ testing our original model with other reasoners
Path 1 means that we have to test many variations on a model to understand
their impact on Pellet performance (Kaon2 documents the kind of things we
should take care of)
Path 2 is leading us to a commercial solution. Test made were very
impressive and if budget is approved it would save the OWL approach.

Now, I've to tell that because of the issues we met I just hope that my
project will not be dropped.

Regards,

Serge.
