[Pellet-users] Why inference time of Pellet and of Jess is so different?

Dear All,
we use Jena2.5.4 +Pellet1.5.0 to operate and do inference on the OWL model which can be got below:
http://protege.cim3.net/file/pub/ontologies/family.swrl.owl/family.swrl.owl
We can get correct results after the inference, but inference time is very long compare with the one that we use Jess+Protégé to do the same thing(75s : less than 1s).
Why inference time of Pellet and of Jess is so different? Is pellet less effective than Jess? What kind of factors will affect pellet inference time? Are there any ways to improve our inference speed?
Thanks.
